The minimum wages in Norway has been updated once again. The new rates come into effect on 15 June 2025. Collective agreements not covered by the general minimum wage continue to be updated on an ongoing basis following negotiations between trade unions and employers’ organisations.
Minimum wages in Norway 2026 applies to selected sectors, particularly those that are highly sought after by foreign workers. The aim of introducing minimum rates is to prevent foreign workers from being paid less than their Norwegian counterparts. On the other hand, the minimum wage is intended to prevent Norwegians from leaving professions that are less popular due to their physical demands. The regulations apply to both skilled and unskilled workers in selected sectors.
